Dustin Lynch Earns Fourth No. 1 With ‘Seein’ Red’
Dustin Lynch is one of country music’s hottest young artists, and he proves it again by celebrating his fourth straight No. 1 single, “Seein’ Red,” on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart.
The song, written by Kurt Allison, Steve Bogard, Tully Kennedy and Jason Sever, follows Lynch’s earlier No. 1 singles “Where It’s At,” “Hell of a Night” and “Mind Reader.” While it wasn't written with Lynch in mind specifically, Bogard says they deliberately set out to push the envelope at country radio.
"We just wanted to have fun and write something rockin’ that was a little bit ahead of the curve, musically. We knew we wanted to write something progressive and rockin’. That’s all we were shooting for," he told Taste of Country just after the song's release.
Moving forward with another success, Lynch realizes country radio has been kind to him early in his career.
"Thank you to my country radio family for blessing us with four in a row,” Lynch says in a press release. “You all continue to support our lives in so many ways. This kicks off the next chapter of music for us and I'm so excited to share it with you soon.”
Bogard believes the song could be career-changing for Lynch. “I hope it’s kind of a turning point, a next step for Dustin,” he says. “Nobody works harder than he does, and nobody cares more about the fans than he does. He’s ready for the next level in his touring, and I just hope this helps to achieve that.”
Since releasing his platinum debut single “Cowboys and Angels” in 2012, Lynch has been on a steady rise, earning tens of millions of streams on Spotify, back-to-back summer tours with Luke Bryan and a spot in direct support of Florida Georgia Line on their current Dig Your Roots Tour.
