I received a postcard size piece of mail a couple of weeks ago concerning a class action lawsuit against Blue Cross Blue Shield. Seems as if there is a proposed $2.67 billion dollar settlement in the works. The reason for the lawsuit is the company is accused of limiting competition. By chance did you also receive one of these in the mail?

According to attorneys you have two ways of responding to the lawsuit, online or by mail. According to bcbssettlement.com:

This settlement, arising from a class action antitrust lawsuit, was reached on behalf of individuals and companies that purchased or received health insurance provided or administered by a Blue Cross Blue Shield company.

You're able to go to the website bcbssettlement.com to see if you qualify to file a claim. Information from the website gives instructions on what to do if you plan to make a claim and receive a payment. You must file a claim form online or by mail postmarked by November 5, 2021. Claims may be submitted online or by mail to:

Blue Cross Blue Shield Settlement
c/o JND Legal Administration
PO Box 91390
Seattle, WA 98111

A $2.67 billion Settlement Fund will be established if approved by the court. The defendants, Blue Cross Blue Shield, will also make changes which will

"increase the opportunities for competition in the market for health insurance."

Since nothing is settled in court as of this time, the website reminds those that are to file to be patient.

Payments will be made if the Court approves the Settlement and after any appeals are resolved.
