Columbia Man Injured When Concrete Mixer Overturns
A Columbia man was injured Thursday morning when the concrete truck he was driving overturned in Boone County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2016 Western Star Concrete Mixer, driven by 51-year-old Hartley S. Wright of Columbia, was southbound on US 63, south of Route H at 10:35 a.m., when the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway. The driver overcorrected, causing the truck to overturn and strike a guardrail. The truck came to rest on its driver side, facing south.
Wright suffered moderate injuries, and was transported by ambulance to University Hospital for treatment.
The concrete mixer was totaled.

Many of the included towns jump out at the casual observer as popular summer-rental spots--the Ozarks' Branson, Missouri, or Arizona's Lake Havasu--it might surprise you to dive deeper into some quality-of-life offerings beyond the beach and vacation homes. You'll likely pick up some knowledge from a wide range of Americana: one of the last remaining 1950s-style drive-ins in the Midwest; a Florida town that started as a Civil War veteran retirement area; an island boasting some of the country's top public schools and wealth-earners right in the middle of a lake between Seattle and Bellevue; and even a California town containing much more than Johnny Cash's prison blues.
