Clinton Woman Injured in Henry County Crash
A Clinton woman was injured in a one-vehicle crash that occurred New Year's Eve in Henry County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2005 Pontiac G6, driven by 26-year-old Virgil J. Clark of Clinton, was on Route U, south of Highway 7, around 7:45 p.m., when the Pontiac left the roadway and struck a pole.
Injured was his passenger, 42-year-old Stephanie R. Saxton of Clinton. She was transported to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
Neither Clark nor Saxton were wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Henry County Deputies assisted the Troopers on scene.
Clark was later arrested by the Patrol at 8:28 p.m. He now faces charges of driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain the right half of the roadway, resulting in a crash, no seat belt and possession of brass knuckles.
Clark was taken to the Henry County Jail, where he was booked and released.
