A Clinton man was injured after striking a deer with his vehicle Tuesday in Benton County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 21-year-old Jacob C. Houk of Clinton was northbound on Route E, just south of Ferguson Road at 5:30 p.m., when he hit a deer.

Houk suffered moderate injuries and was treated on scene by Windsor EMS. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the incident.

His 2017 Ford had extensive damage and was towed from the scene.
