A Bosworth man died after jumping off a cliff at the Lake of the Ozarks on Saturday in Camden County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 41-year-old Thomas J. Painter of Bosworth was at the 64.5 mile marker on the main channel at the lake around 5:15 p.m., when he jumped from a 125-foot cliff into the water and didn't resurface.

The body was later taken to Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Camdenton.

This was Troop F's fifth drowning of August and the 11th drowning in 2021.

The three Troopers  on scene  were assisted by Mid-County, Northwest and Gravois Mills Fire Departments.
