Can Math Formula Determine If You Woke Up On Wrong Side Of The Bed?
How many of you have heard the saying 'Woke Up On The Wrong Side Of The Bed'? I have certainly used that phrase at least one time in life. If you are not familiar with it, it is defined as "to be in a bad mood throughout the day". We all all been there before, probably on a Monday. Well as it turns out, there may be a math formula that can determine if you did, in fact, wake up on the wrong side of the bed.
Now you may be saying, "Tim, you said there would be no math!" Sorry. :)
Now this formula has several factors, including the times you spend exercising, showering, eating breakfast, and other "getting ready" activities. I would assume this would include dealing with your kids, making coffee etc.
It also takes into account the number of hours you spend sleeping, and the time of the day you normally get out of bed. Now lets get out you pen and paper and jot this down.
How many minutes do you spend eating breakfast? Double it, then ADD that number to the number of minutes spent exercising and showering. Write that number down.
How many hours do you spend sleeping? Subtract that number from 8, and add 1. You then multiply that number by the number of hours your wake up time was away from 7:12 AM plus 1. Yes, all of that. Write that number down.
What was the first number did you write down? Divide that number by the 2nd number. Then add that total to the number of minutes you spend doing other "Getting Ready" activities, HALVED (divided by two).
Phew...did you do all of that? If you overall total is HIGHER than 37, then you apparently woke up on the RIGHT side of the bed. If it is equal or less than 37, WRONG side of the bed.
Below there is a video of the British mathematician talking about this formula that may also help you out. Here's hoping that your number is higher than 37.
