Bothwell Regional Health Center will conduct 2 Safe Sitter babysitting education classes in June.

A press release from BRHC says the first class will take place Friday, June 7, from 7:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. The second class will be held on Saturday, June 15, from 7:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Both classes will take place in the Bothwell Education Center, located at 600 E. 14th Street in Sedalia.

BRHC says the classes are designed for children in grades 6-8 and ready to enter the world of babysitting. The Safe Sitter Program is described as a comprehensive, one-day course that includes pediatric CPR training and can teach young teens and preteens how to be better, safer babysitters.

Students in the class have the opportunity to learn about injury management and prevention, childcare essentials, behavior management, the business of babysitting, and how to care for a choking child or infant.

The cost for the class is $35.00, and includes a messenger bag which contains babysitting essentials.

Preregistration is required and payment is due by Monday, June 3.
