Arkansas Man Injured After Ramming Into Freightliner
An Arkansas man was injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred Wednesday morning in Johnson County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound 2020 Freightliner Cascadia, followed by an eastbound 2024 Chevy Silverado, were in the turn lane of US 50, at Devasher Road around 5 a.m., waiting to turn south, when the Silverado struck the towed unit of the Freightliner and became lodged under the towed unit.
The Freightliner then drug the Silverado onto Devasher Road, coming to rest in the northbound lane.
The driver of the Silverado, 30-year-old Austin J. Neff of Poinsett, Arkansas, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Research Medical Center in Kansas City by JCAD. Neff was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.
The driver of the Freightliner was uninjured.
The Silverado was totaled and towed by Tip Top Towing.
