Boston is a very popular destination for people from Missouri. Or at the very least that's an assumption I'm making since both Jet Blue and American Airlines announced new service between Missouri and Boston.

Jet Blue announced non stop service from Kansas City International to both Boston and New York City yesterday, while American Airlines announced they will offer two flights to Boston daily from St. Louis Lambert International Airport starting on November 2.

One of American's flights will be geared for business travelers getting them to Boston just after 11:00 AM EST, and a return flight to St. Louis that departs as late as 7:00PM EST.

“We are thrilled that American Airlines plans to add this service,” said Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge, STL Director in a release. “The schedule American Airlines will be offering with this added Boston market, twice daily, will be beneficial to both leisure and business travelers as they make plans to visit Massachusetts and the surrounding area. We are pleased American Airlines recognizes the strength of our region with this new service.”

American will offer a 7:30AM and 3:00PM flight out of St. Louis, with flights to St. Louis arriving from Boston at 2:05PM and 9:35PM CST. American will operate the flights with Airbus 319s, which get some mixed reviews from passengers on Seat Guru. The main complaint people have is with the legroom and getting comfortable on the plane.

Last month United announced they will begin seasonal service to Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head South Carolina. United will fly to Myrtle Beach on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday and Hilton Head on Monday, Thursday and Saturday. United's service to Hilton Head is unique in that they will fly into Hilton Head Island Airport, as opposed to Savanna, 45 minutes away. United is offering the service from May 27 through September 6.
