The term "Karen" is now associated with a woman who behaves or is perceived as entitled, or demanding beyond the scope of what is normal.  You may have seen this in a retail store or a restaurant, and it seems to be happening more and more, especially during the pandemic.  The women tend to be white, and it is a way for them to use their 'White Privilege'.

Well now you will get a chance to act that way, and not get into trouble for it.  Karen's Diner is coming to a secret location on Gravois Avenue in St Louis this September. According to their Facebook page,  “With every insult, roast, and rude name, I can feel the huge, gaping hole in my heart grow a little smaller.”

The idea, is you can complain all you want, and the staff there couldn't care less.  It is a performance for sure.  You will have singing waitresses and waiters, frequent manager visits, etc.  If any of you have ever heard of Ed Debevic's in Chicago, I suspect this will be a similar situation.  As for those manager visits, they are described as the most "Karen, Karen" ever.  Do not incur her wrath!

I would recommend booking ahead of time.  As a performer myself, I think this could be a whole lot of fun.  If you like the nostalgia of a 50's diner this also might be a very unique experience.  If you go, take a lot of pictures, and embrace the theater of it all!
