80-Year-Old Man Killed in ATV Accident in Bates County

An 80-year-old man from Adrian, Missouri was killed in an ATV accident in Bates County on August 29.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Monroe C. Gilbert lost control of a 2015 Polaris ATV on private property. The ATV struck a fence, a tree, overturned and ejected the driver.

Gilbert was pronounced dead at the scene just after 8 p.m. by the Bates County Coroner. His body was taken to Mullinax Funeral Home.
