5 Local (ish) Pumpkin Patches You Gotta Visit This Fall
I love fall. It's my favorite time of year.
I love Halloween, I love the changing colors of the leaves, I love the weather getting a bit cooler...anyway, I talked about all that yesterday. One more thing I love about fall is that we all collectively decide that we need to be outdoors in a Corn Maze or a Pumpkin Patch. And there are a few good ones in the area that I've been to, although one of them did close down. So I thought to myself, "Self, if you love it, other people must love it, too. I mean, yeah, you're a little weird, but these places are in business for a reason." SO, being the ace article writer that I most definitely am (note sarcasm please) I decided to find a few and tell you about them.
1. Prairies End Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze.
You can check out their page here. They're open now for the season, which I think is until the end of October. 2 and under free, seniors (65 +) and active military $8.00, ages 3-64 are $10.00. They're on 65 Highway as you're headed to Cole Camp.
2. Pixie Pumpkin Patch.
They're in Knob Noster. Here's their page. They say they have pumpkins, hayrides, animals, a PUMPKIN CANNON (color me intrigued), food, bounce pad and playgrounds. They're only open weekends in October, but it sounds fun!
3. Big Bear Pumpkin Patch.
This one is in Sedalia (well, out of city limits but you get it) and I don't think I've heard of it before. Here's a quote from their page:
We are a father/daughter duo that have a passion for growing things and bringing joy to others while making a little money for ourselves. We hope to see you October 2021!
They also say they're open weekends in October, so not this weekend, but soon. They have a corn maze, hay ride, zip line, bounce house, large slide that goes into corn pit, a sound garden, rubber duck race, and lawn games. Admission is about eight bucks, but they're cash only so keep that in mind.
4. Buckeye Acres Produce.
They're in Warrensburg, and they're kind of a mix of a country store with a pumpkin patch. They make their own jams and jellies and stuff. They're actually opening the pumpkin patch this weekend, although the store is open year round. But you can check all that out here.
5. Carolyn's Pumpkin Patch.
This one is a bit of a drive, but if you're looking for a day trip, might be fun. It's in Liberty, and actually has a lot of different things to do. They're open now, and you can even buy a season pass or tickets online.
