10 High Schools in Missouri Called Out as Worst in the State
It's not simple to decide what makes a Missouri high school a positive influence on students or negative. There's a new ranking that includes a lot of important educational metrics which calls out 10 high schools for being the worst in Missouri.
School Digger says that they are "always the first to publish Missouri test scores and rankings. Other sites use stale test score data that are several years old!" Here are some of the factors they include obvious ones like grades, but also the amount of students that are dependent on free school lunches and how much each high school spends on each student. Average test scores do seem to play the biggest part in determining what Missouri school districts are doing a good job and which ones aren't successful.
Here are the worst 10 based on School Digger's metrics that are based on the most recent full school year data available.
This School Digger ranking is based on 361 Missouri high schools that were measured. For the sake of comparison, the #1 rated high school in Missouri they say is Collegiate School Of Med/Bio which had an average student score of an incredible 96.4%. That is beyond impressive.
Here's another thing to note. School Digger has a red alert box on their site that indicates they are expecting even newer data from the Missouri Department of Education any day now, so this list is likely to change soon. I will update once new data is shared by the state of Missouri.
