For those of us who received a traditional education, we don't think about things like art, music, and physical education that are part of the school experience. That's a little different for kids who are home-schooled.  When it comes to physical education, Warrensburg Parks and Recreation has a program this fall to help parents who are homeschooling their children with physical education.

Warrensburg Parks and Recreation is offering a new program called Homeschool P.E. at the Community Center. In a Facebook post outlining the month-long program Warrensburg Parks and Rec outlines what the program will cover.

Parks and Rec says the program will use engaging activities to keep kids moving and learning. The program will promote healthy habits and overall wellness. And will also focus on skills development like teamwork, as well as individual skills.

Warrensburg Parks and Recreation says the program will be led by experienced coaches who are "dedicated to creating a positive and inclusive environment for all participants."

The program is geared for homeschoolers ages 5 through 18 and activities will take part in the Community Center Gym, Grover Park Tennis Courts, and Buford Ballpark. Each session will focus on exercise, activities, and sports to develop foundational physical skills in each age group.

This session begins tomorrow, Thursday, October 5, 2023, from Noon to 1:00 PM CDT, and runs through Thursday, October 26, 2023. The cost is $25 for the first child and $20 for each additional child. Registration closes today, October 4, 2023. For more information or to register your child click here. Space in each session is limited and registration is required.
