A male and female occupant of the vehicle were identified to be the residents of 1011 South Center Avenue, which is a residence the drug enforcement unit has been investigating for methamphetamine distribution.

At the time of the traffic stop, additional detectives and patrol officers responded to that residence to serve a knock-and-announce search warrant, which had been previously obtained by the drug unit.

Officers with the K9 Unit responded to the scene of the traffic stop, where K9 “Charlie” performed a sniff of the vehicle and provided a positive alert. A search of the vehicle revealed methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and additional evidence to indicate the subjects were distributing methamphetamine.

At the residence, entry was gained through the front door and contact was made with a male subject inside who was later discovered to have an active warrant. The male subject was taken into custody without incident. Officers performed a search of the residence where they located methamphetamine and additional items of evidence to further support the residents were distributing methamphetamine.
