Boys and Girls Club

I'm not a golfer. The last time I played golf was in 2009, and the last time before that was...never. It's not really my thing. I'm just more into sports where what you do actually affects your opponent. However, I'm always down to go try something new, and this was for a good cause, so I figured I'd give it a try.

Every month or so, I like to have the folks from the Boys and Girls Club into the studios to see what Matt, Britt and the gang are up to. There seems to be always something a little different brewing over there to get those young creative minds working.

As you probably know by now, the Boys and Girls Club is pretty heavily involved in what's going on here in Sedalia. They had a huge summer with all sorts of great projects, and the upcoming school year looks just as exciting!

Recently, Matt LaCasse from the Boys and Girls Club came into the studios and had a talk with me about everything going on with the Sedalia B&G Club this summer.

The Boys and Girls Club of West Central Missouri has teamed up once again with Staples for the back to school drive. The drive has kicked off today (July 16) and will run until Sept. 28.

Kids, this weekend was a great chance for folks to take a second and say thanks. And thanks they did, in droves! The 4th Annual Firefighters Memorial Bike Ride was last Saturday. I was there early at Liberty Park, and Kevin Walker was there to take pictures.

With summer comes a lot of great outdoor events.  One event that's been in our area for a few years now is the Firefighter Memorial Bike Ride.  It's a great time for the whole area to come together and show our appreciation.

Dale Malone, owner of Dukes & Boots in Sedalia, recently raised $1500 for the Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri through a fundraiser held on Black Friday (Nov. 23).

Kids, there's a big event coming up next week.  It's something that is good for kids of all ages, whether they grew up in town or out in the country. The El Dorado Saddle Club, Hoofprints Stables and Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri are teaming up on Saturday, Nov. 17 to present the first annual “Teach & Trot.”  It's an event that's meant to really interest the people who are ex

Central Bank of Missouri will act as the title sponsor for the Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri's annual “An Evening of Heart & Hope” auction. As the first title sponsor ever, Central Bank will donate $10,000 to the organization, as well as dedicate their resources of time and talent to assist in making the auction a success.
