Sedalia Police Reports For June 22, 2023

Monday night, an SUV was stopped at East 6th Street and South Engineer Avenue because it nearly caused a collision after it failed to yield to oncoming traffic. The vehicle also had expired temporary tags. The driver was intoxicated by drugs and alcohol. Salina Maria Reyna, 32, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Failing to Stop at a Stop Sign. Reyna was taken to the Pettis County Jail.

Last Friday night, Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of East Broadway Boulevard and South Crockett Avenue. The driver of the vehicle was found to have a revoked driver’s license. Tracy Ray Scott Arnold, 28, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Revoked. Arnold was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to assist with a traffic stop in the area of East 16th Street and South Engineer Avenue Sunday night. The vehicle had been stopped for failing to maintain the right half of the roadway. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. The driver was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department, where she refused to provide a breath sample. A search warrant was obtained and a blood draw was conducted. Debra Ann Blankenship, 62, of Sedalia, was arrested for felony Driving While Intoxicated (Chronic Offender, Class C), and Driving While Revoked.

Wednesday night, Officers responded to the 900 block of West 10th Street in reference to a vehicle theft. Officers spoke with Monica A. Lindwall, who stated her vehicle was stolen from the front of her residence.

On the evening of June 13th, Detectives with the Crime Resolution Unit were performing proactive patrol near the area of East 17th Street and South Lamine Avenue. Detectives observed a subject believed to have a warrant. Contact was made with the subject, and it was confirmed he had a Probation and Parole Violation warrant on original charges of felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. Shane Steven Ruth, 35, Homeless, was arrested on his warrant and then transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in with no bond.

Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of North Prospect Avenue in reference to a disturbance on Wednesday night. When Officers arrived, they spoke with an individual who said she and her ex got into a physical altercation. Officers were unable to determine a primary physical aggressor, and a 12-hour log was completed.

Late Tuesday night, an SUV was stopped in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and Ruth Ann Drive after it was observed using a private lot to go around a signal light. The SUV also had a defective brake light, and an expired temporary tag. The driver was intoxicated by drugs. Tammy Lynn Chaney, 59, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs) and Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle. Cheney was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of East 12th Street in reference to an assist agency call Wednesday morning. A vehicle reported stolen out of Johnson County was shown to be at an address nearby via GPS. The vehicle was recovered, the owner was contacted.

Wednesday morning, a truck was stolen from the Kehde’s Barbecue restaurant, 1915 South Limit Avenue. The truck was hauling a boat. The incident was recorded on the business’ camera, and a suspect has been identified.

On the evening of June 13th, Detectives with the Crime Resolution Unit conducted a warrant check in the 100 block of East 16th Street. The suspect’s information was relayed to Dispatch, who confirmed he had a warrant for his arrest. During a search incident to arrest, suspected methamphetamine was found on the subject. Chad Duane Potter, 51, of Sedalia, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and his Pettis County warrant on felony charges of Tampering With a Motor Vehicle in the 1st Degree. Bond was set at $7,500 cash or surety.
