Sedalia Police Reports for July 10, 2023

Friday evening, Officers responded to the 1100 block of West 7th Street to mediate in a civil issue. Upon arrival, contact was made with the caller, who stated a neighbor had parked vehicles on her property. The vehicles were blocking in one of her vehicles, so she could not get out. Officers and both neighbors came up with a resolution to get the truck and other vehicles moved. Both parties were provided information about the issue being a civil matter.

Sedalia Police responded to the 1500 block of South Missouri Avenue Sunday afternoon to investigate a possible domestic disturbance in progress. Upon arrival, Officers determined a physical altercation did occur between the residents. A primary physical aggressor could not be determined, and a 12-hour log report was collected.

On the afternoon of July 3rd, Officers responded to the area of North Mill Avenue and East St Louis Street for a report of found property. On arrival, Connie Jones turned in a brown wallet. The wallet was collected and taken to the Sedalia Police Department to be placed into found property.

Sunday evening, Officers responded to the Casey’s store, 1601 East Broadway Boulevard, for a theft report. Employees stated an unknown male stole four vape cartridges from the store and left the scene. A theft report was collected.

Early Monday morning, a traffic stop was conducted near the intersection of South Grand Avenue and West 7th Street. Juan Carlos Enrique, 35, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Enrique was transported to the Sedalia Police Department to be processed for his DWI charge as well as Improper Lane Usage. Enrique was booked and released.

Officers responded to the Cenex store, 120 East 16th Street for a report of burglary. Contact was made with a female subject, who reported that a female suspect entered the store, and demanded she put some items into a bag and give them to her. The clerk refused, and the suspect threatened to harm her. The suspect was located in the area of East 16th Street and South Engineer Avenue. Lori Lynn Hadley, 51, of Sedalia, was arrested for Burglary in the 1st Degree, Assault in the 4th Degree, Stealing, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Sunday afternoon, Officers responded to the 400 block of East Harvey Street for a theft report. Officers spoke to Kimberly M. Draheim, who stated a mini bike was stolen from her property on May 27th of 2023. At the time of the report, a suspect has not been located. A report was completed to document the theft.

An Officer responded to the 1300 block of West 6th Street last Thursday morning for a report of a stolen firearm. Contact was made with Isaac James Toliver, who reported his pistol was stolen earlier that morning.

Late Saturday night, a car was stopped in the area of West 4th Street and South Carr Avenue because it had no license plate lights. The vehicle also showed indicators of impaired driving. The driver was intoxicated. Juan C. Cisnero Martinez, 28, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Cisenero Martinez was processed and released with a citation for DWI.

Saturday night, an Officer responded to the 500 block of East 5th Street for a firework complaint. Upon arrival, the complainant pointed out suspects that had been shooting off fireworks. Heather N. Lion, 43, of Sedalia, was issued a citation for Discharge/Possession of Fireworks.

Officers were dispatched to an assault that occurred near South Lamine Avenue and East 4th Street Saturday morning. Misty Rahe reported being attacked from behind by an unknown attacker or attackers. Rahe suffered injury to her face, but refused medical treatment.

In the early morning hours of July 8th, a car was stopped after it was observed failing to maintain the right half of the roadway and disobeying stop signs. The stop took place in the area of West 3rd Street and South Kentucky Avenue. The driver was intoxicated and was found to have Failure to Appear warrants for his arrest. Quenten Adam Harmon, 24, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, and then placed on a 12-hour safekeeping hold. Harmon was also booked for his Johnson County Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility and Failure to Wear a Seat Belt, total bond $300 cash only. Harmon also had several Failure to Appear warrants from Cass County on original charges of Property Damage, Harassment (Phone Calls), and two counts of Trespassing, with a total bond of $1000 cash or surety.

Early Saturday morning, a vehicle was stopped in the 3100 block of West Broadway Boulevard because it was failing to dim its high beams. During the investigation, a K9 alerted to the presence of drugs. A search of the car revealed ecstasy and a schedule four drug. Both Subjects were arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Maranda Mae Richmond, 22, of Fulton, was arrested for Driving Without a License, and felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. Clarence Barnes, 47, of Aurora Ill, was arrested for felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. Both Richmond and Barnes were placed on a 24 hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.

Last Wednesday morning, a car was stopped in the area of West 20th Street and South Limit Avenue for moving violations. The vehicle also showed indicators of impaired driving. The driver failed to yield before stopping about 45 seconds after the initiation of the traffic stop. Patrick Angei, 42, of Warrensburg, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Failure to Yield to An Emergency Vehicle.

Saturday evening, Officers responded to the 1000 block of East 3rd Street for a potential physical domestic disturbance in progress. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with both suspects. A primary physical aggressor could not be determined. A 12-hour log was collected.

Saturday night, Officers responded to the 1000 block of South Monroe Avenue for a potential domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with the suspect and the victim. A primary physical aggressor was determined, and placed under arrest. Rahfee A. Mcclee, 32, of Sedalia, was arrested for Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree.

Sedalia Police responded to the 2700 block of South Grand Avenue last Thursday evening for a report of potential burglary no longer in progress. A suspect was identified, and charges are being requested for Trespassing in the 1st Degree.

Saturday morning, Officers made contact with a subject urinating in a parking lot in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard. Felipe Efigenio, 66, was issued a municipal court summons for Indecent Exposure and released.

On the morning of the Independence Day holiday, Officers responded to the area of North Grand Avenue and Martin Luther King Drive for a report of a motor vehicle accident. On arrival, Officers contacted the subjects involved. A computer check through Dispatch confirmed his revoked driving status. Sherman L. Ward, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Revoked. Ward was transported to the BRHC for a fit for confinement check, then released to the care of Bothwell for his medical needs.

Friday afternoon, Officers responded to the Sedalia Housing Authority, 500 Welch Court, for a theft report. Contact was made with the business, who stated multiple replacement doors had been stolen from the property. A description of the vehicle was given. The vehicle was spotted by an Officer a few minutes later in the area of West Benton Street and North Park Avenue. A traffic stop was conducted, and after an investigation, the driver was arrested. Virgil A. Edgar, 50, of Sedalia, was arrested for Stealing. Edgar was then booked and released.

Last Thursday night, a car was stopped in the area of East Broadway Boulevard and South Lamine Avenue because it had expired license plates. The driver provided a false name, but was ultimately identified. Mark William Stewart Sr., 62, of an unknown address, was found to have a Parole Violation warrant out of the State of Texas. Stewart was placed under arrest for the warrant, and new charges of Fugitive from Justice as well as Identity Theft. Stewart was placed on a 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.

An Officer responded to the 3400 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a report of fraud last Thursday evening. Ray Oldham reported being scammed out of $1500 from someone claiming to be from the Office of the Inspector General.
