Sedalia will be the new site for a European Based Company's new U.S. Logistics Center.

The Missouri Department of Economic Development recently announced that Nammo AS, an international aerospace and defense company headquartered in Norway, has a newly formed Capstone Precision Group LLC, and will build their U.S. logistics center in Pettis County.

This facility will be the U.S. logistics center for Capstone Precision Group’s four commercial ammunition brands, which include: Lapua, Berger, VihtaVuori, and SK. “Capstone Precision Group’s decision to grow its business in Missouri is great news for families in rural Pettis County. This new distribution center means new quality jobs for hard working Missourians,” said Gov. Eric Greitens. “We’re fighting to grow jobs every day, and we’re grateful to Capstone Precision Group for recognizing that Missouri is open for business and our people are ready to work.”

Raimo Helasmäki, Nammo’s EVP of Commercial Ammunition, said, “Nammo is excited about the creation of the Capstone Precision Group logistic center in Missouri. This move to Missouri is a well thought through strategy where all the benefits for all counterparts are optimized. The local authorities have been very easy to work with to help develop this project. We look forward to years of growth through this facility”

The press release states, that Capstone Precision Group plans to be fully operational by this December. From just outside Sedalia city limits, where Capstone Precision Group will be leasing 30,000 sq. ft. of space, the products will be sent throughout the U.S. to dealers and wholesalers.

Missouri competed against several other states for the distribution facility and was given strong consideration because of the favorable cost of doing business, and the state’s strategic location in the center of the United States, according to the release.

Capstone Precision Group will invest almost $1 million to launch the new 30,000 square foot facility.

“Capstone Precision Group is a phenomenal company and we are thrilled to welcome them to Missouri,” said CEO of Missouri Partnership Steve Johnson. “This was a project that required coordination at all levels, and the joint efforts of Pettis-County, Sedalia- Pettis County EDC, the State and our team was excellent. It is great to see yet another company take advantage of Missouri’s unique distribution and logistics strengths.”

“Capstone Precision Group will join more than 70 manufacturers and industrial-related companies doing business in Pettis County. We are pleased Capstone Precision Group sees the value in locating this state-of-the-art facility in our community and look forward to a long-standing relationship with this top-notch, international company,” said Pettis County Presiding Commissioner David Dick.
