I was lucky enough to have the chance to talk this week with one of my favorite country artists, Gary Allan. Over his 17 year career, Gary has achieved multi-platinum status, producing 26 singles on the Billboard Country Charts (including four number ones), and wowing countless audiences. He'll be putting on a show at the Missouri State Fair Pepsi Grandstand, Saturday Aug. 10.

Something big is coming to the Liberty Center.  This October they're going to be presenting the Great American Trailer Park Musical.  Fred Norman, the director of the show, came in to talk to us about getting YOU to audition!

In the summertime, parents and caretakers often encourage their young ones to get outside and play.  It is very important to keep them active and moving, but be sure to keep their minds active, too!  The Sedalia School districts are doing their Reading Camp right now, and if your child is enrolled, you can expect to hear a lot about reading this summer.

The Daum Museum has been on the State Fair Community College Campus for several years now, and they do plenty of permanent exhibitions, but every now and then they offer a themed special exhibit.  Thomas Piche is the Director of the Daum, and there were two free exhibits that he came in to talk about today.

Kids, Memorial Day will be here before you know it.  Towards the end of the month, several of you lucky ducks will get a day off work.  While obviously the actual Memorial Day (May 27) is very important for remembering your deceased loved ones, the weekend is also well known as a big barbecue time. Kids, this week marks a big anniversary, well, birthday.  It's huge in the country music world and I'm sure it can be to some of you: It's Willie Nelson's 80th birthday!

Keith Urban showed the current crop of contestants how it's done in the big leagues with a high-energy performance of 'Long Hot Summer' on 'American Idol' Thursday night (March 28).
