KIX Fans Enjoy a Night at the Races at Lucas Oil Speedway [PHOTOS]
You could hear the engines roaring well into the night in Wheatland, Mo. as KIX listeners were treated to a night at the races down at Lucas Oil Speedway. Complete with boat races, the Hickory County fair and go-karts, race fans had a blast with an entire day of action packed family fun. Suspect Arrested in Connection with Recent Armed Burglary in Sedalia
Members of the Sedalia STING Unit and other Sedalia Police officers arrested a suspect this morning (June 27) in connection with an armed burglary earlier this week. The subject, Michael L. Shepard of Sedalia, was arrested for two Pettis County Warrants issued with no bond from charges of assault, armed criminal action, a felon in possession of a firearm and felonious restraint.

With the 4th of July quickly approaching, the Sedalia Police Department would like to remind the citizens of Sedalia that buying, selling, displaying and shooting fireworks is prohibited within the city limits. Violating the fireworks ordinance can result in a $109 fine and potentially some time in jail.
Sedalia STING Unit Uncovers Several Thousand Dollars’ Worth of Illegal Prescription Pills on Liberty Park Blvd.
Shortly before 6 a.m. this morning (June 17), the Sedalia Police STING Unit and other officers served a search warrant at 1902 Liberty Park Blvd. Two suspects were found at the residence. A search of the residence revealed marijuana, drug packaging supplies a digital scale and several thousand dollars’ worth of illegal prescription pills. Officers also seized three vehicles and $4400 in cash.

The Sedalia City Council is expected to vote on the "Sedalia Clean Air Indoor Act of 2013" on Monday, June 17. The draft of the smoking ban has been posted for the public to view. If passed, the ordinance could be in effect as soon as September 1, 2013.
