Members of the Sedalia STING Unit and other Sedalia Police officers arrested a suspect this morning (June 27) in connection with an armed burglary earlier this week.  The subject, Michael L. Shepard of Sedalia, was arrested for two Pettis County Warrants issued with no bond from charges of assault, armed criminal action, a felon in possession of a firearm and felonious restraint.

According to a statement from the Sedalia STING Unit, members of the STING unit made a traffic stop near 808 E. Broadway just after midnight.  Shepard had just gotten out of the vehicle, where officers found a firearm used in one of the crimes.  Officers discovered where Shepard was dropped off and went to locate him.

Officers located the residence where Shepard was dropped off and were granted conset to search it.  During the search, Shepard ran out the back door and was caught by officers following a foot pursuit.

Shepard was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked for the two warrants and placed on 24-hour hold pending new charges.
