Seahorse Bacon: Food Turns Into Fun Shapes

There are many oddities that happen in the world that I think fascinate people in general. I remember when I was young you would look up into the clouds and try and make out the different shapes that were formed. Then there are the more well known times that food seemed to form something special, like the cinnamon roll that looked like Mother Teresa, or the chicken nugget that looked like Abraham Lincoln, a chip that looks like Elvis, or how about the more common oddity; chips that end up looking like Pac-Man or even a state.

Skyline PTA Bans Sweets at Class Parties, Will Provide Healthy Snacks for Kids

This week, my son received a letter addressed to parents of Skyline Elementary students stating that the Skyline Parent Teacher Association (PTA) wanted to make some changes to class parties this year. The PTA wants to conform to the new Health Wellness Program that the Sedalia School District adopted last year and have asked parents to not provide any foods like cupcakes, cookies, candy or treat bags for any class parties. The Skyline PTA will now provide every child in every class with pretzels, Cheez-Its and juice instead.

The NFL Should Not Delay Games for Weather [OPINION]

The NFL season is young, but I'm already seeing a trend this year that I really don't want to see anymore. There have already been three games delayed or suspended due to weather. The NFL used to play games in any condition. Last Sunday (Sept. 15), there were two delays; Tampa Bay vs New Orleans and then San Francisco vs Seattle.

Should Sedalia School Board Be Able to Continue the Athletic Complex Proposal Without Full Private Funds? [POLL]

There have been a lot of people that asked questions about the new Smith-Cotton High School stadium being proposed. While many have said that the complex has become outdated and needs upgrades or replacing, some have pointed out that in the process of the Sedalia School District getting the tax levy to build the high school, the athletic complex was cut out of the project in order for the levy to pass after it failed several times. It's their opinion the project shouldn’t be done with any public funds.
