‘Turn’ Season 2: AMC Revolutionary War Drama Renewed for 2015

AMC Turn Season 2 Renewal 2015
AMC

AMC had a rough go of finding new series to generate the same excitement as its aging flagships ‘The Walking Dead,’ ‘Mad Men‘ and even ‘Breaking Bad,’ but it seems ‘Turn‘ reaped the benefits of that challenge. The network officially commissioned the Revolutionary War drama to return for a second season in 2015, but will anything be different this time around?

According to AMC, the Jamie Bell-starring colonial spy drama will undergo yet another round of 10 episodes next year, while encores of the inaugural season will air alongside the fourth season of AMC’s ‘Hell on Wheels‘ this summer. ‘Turn’ is the second major renewal for AMC over the last week, after the cable network greenlit ‘Breaking Bad’ spinoff ‘Better Call Saulfor a second season, simultaneously pushing back the first season premiere to 2015.

Based on Alexander Rose’s book, ‘Washington’s Spies,’ and written by showrunner Craig Silverstein (‘Nikita’) and executive produced by ‘Bones’’ Barry Josephson, ‘Turn’ is set in 1778 and follows Abe Woodhull (Jamie Bell) as he bands together with a group of friends to form The Culper Ring, an unlikely group of spies who turn the tide in America’s fight for independence.

In addition to Bell, the 2014 drama stars Meegan Warner as Mary Woodhull, Daniel Henshall as Caleb Brewster, Burn Gorman (‘Pacific Rim‘) as Major Hewlett, Seth Numrich as Benjamin Tallmadge, Heather Lind (‘Boardwalk Empire‘) as Anna Strong, Kevin McNally (‘Pirates of the Caribbean‘) as Richard Woodhull, Angus Macfadyen (‘Braveheart’) as Robert Rodgers, and J.J. Feild as Major John André.

Well, what say you? ‘Turn’ hasn’t exactly proven revolutionary in the ratings, but are you glad to see Abe Woodhull and co. returning for a second season on AMC this coming 2015?
