The University of Central Missouri's Performing Arts Series and Department of Music present The World Percussion Group, directed by Maraca2, one of the world's leading percussion duos, at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday in Hendricks Hall. The concert is part of the PAS Guest Artist Series.

According to a release from UCM, Maraca2 has performed at festivals and concert halls around the world. Tim Palmer and Jason Huxtable created Maraca2 at the Birmingham Conservatoire in England, and created the idea of The World Percussion Group in 2014. Members of the group were selected from hundreds of applicants worldwide.

The inaugural 2016 U.S. tour kicked off in Las Vegas in February and includes presentations, clinics, lessons, performances, and masterclasses with a touring ensemble delivering an extremely high quality ‘mobile percussion festival.'

The World Percussion Group and Maraca2 will be in Warrensburg for a three-day residency as part of the Performing Arts Series' Arts Education Outreach Program. Activities will include workshops, demonstrations, lectures and masterclasses with college and high school students.

Tickets for the Wednesday evening concert start at $10, with discounts available. Tickets may be purchased at the Central Tickets Box Office in Administration 100 from noon-5 p.m., by calling 660-543-8888, online at ucmpas.com, and one hour prior to show time. UCM Student Rush tickets will be available for $5 starting at 7 p.m. at Hendricks Hall prior to the concert.
