Wednesday Now the Day to Watch for Possible Big Snow in Missouri

Weather is a moving target. Trying to forecast it is a challenge that anyone who is not a meteorologist can't fully understand. The incoming storm systems that will impact Missouri are a great example as they're changing and it now looks like Wednesday is the day to watch for possible big snow in Missouri.

I've been watching the computer models simulating what they believe will happen with 3 different storm systems that will impact Missouri in the next week, but wanted to wait and see what the National Weather Service had to say about them and they've finally chimed in.

Let's start with the latest GFS model runs that Ryan Hall just shared Saturday morning giving you an idea of what the middle of the week will look like. There will be some snow Monday, too, but that's now expected to be a minor event. Look out for Wednesday and this is why. This is what snowfall in Missouri looks like Wednesday morning around 10am.

As the system makes its way across Missouri, snow will become more significant by the afternoon hours. There's a chance that freezing rain and ice could be a part of the mix for much of the southern half of the state.

The storm is now expected to continue into early Thursday morning.

The storm won't be over by the time Thursday morning gets further on.

There's still uncertainty about exact snow amounts, but here are the percentages that the National Weather Service in St. Louis have shared about Wednesday into Wednesday night.

This will be an interesting week as there are 3 and maybe even 4 rounds of snow storm systems that could affect Missouri beginning Monday. It looks like we're in the conveyer belt of winter storms pattern that is typical for February in Missouri.
