Two People Die in Bass Boat Collision at Table Rock Lake
Two people died in a collision involving two bass boats Friday morning on Table Rock Lake.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that “an unknown factor” caused an eastbound 1993 Ranger 392V, piloted by 55-year-old Ted S. Dossett of Gentry, Arkansas, to cross the path of a westbound 2018 Bass Cat Caracal, piloted by 65-year-old William B. Ward of Shell Knob, Mo., on table Rock Lake, three-fourths of a mile west of Point 24 at 7:40 a.m., causing the Caracal to strike the front port side of the Ranger.
Barry County Coroner Gary Swearingen pronounced Dossett, as well as a 14-year-old male juvenile (also from Gentry) dead at 9:05 a.m. The bodies were taken to Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
There were a total of eight Troopers on scene, in addition to other emergency response personnel.
