The traffic lights at Hwy 50 and 65 malfunctioned around 1:30 p.m. this afternoon (Jan. 28). for the second time this week. The Sedalia Police Department sent out officers to guide traffic during the time the traffic lights were out.

A Missouri Department of Transportation crew is working to fix the issue. According to MoDot District Engineer Mike McGrath, the malfunction was originally believed caused by the wind that may have interfered with the traffic flow earlier this week. The crews are working on it to make sure traffic flow is back to normal and it's not known what caused this latest outage.

If you drive at the intersection of  Highway 65 and 50 you may experience minor delays until the issue is fixed, hopefully soon.
