‘The Peanuts Movie’ Trailer: Charlie Brown Is Not a Quitter
This new extended trailer for The Peanuts Movie hints at a film that's a bit more charming than you might expect. It also looks like it could be a legitimately good coming-of-age film, which seems about right with Paul Feig involved as a producer — he may be best known these days for his female-driven comedy films, but Feig is also the guy responsible for Freaks and Geeks, one of the greatest television shows of all time.
One of the best things about this new trailer is the opening, which combines the more contemporary animation with Charles M. Schulz's classic comic strip style. Utilizing The Who's "Baba O'Riley," the trailer gives off the impression of a coming-of-age story, as Charlie Brown embarks on a quest to go from loser to winner to impress a new girl at school. And of course the whole gang is here: Lucy, Linus, Schroeder, Peppermint Patty, Snoopy and Woodstock, Marcie, Franklin and, best of all, Pig-Pen, whose dusty little cameo might be my favorite moment of all.
Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus and the rest of the beloved “Peanuts” gang make their big-screen debut, like they’ve never been seen before, in state-of-the-art 3D animation. Snoopy, the world’s most lovable beagle—and flying ace—embarks upon his greatest mission as he takes to the skies to pursue his arch-nemesis The Red Baron, while his best pal, Charlie Brown, begins his own epic quest. From the imagination of Charles M. Schulz and the creators of the ICE AGE films, THE PEANUTS MOVIE will prove that every underdog has his day.
The Peanuts Movie will charm its way into your heart on November 6.
