Hear Two New Cadillac Three Songs, ‘Demolition Man’ and ‘American Slang’
In advance of their upcoming new album, Legacy, the Cadillac Three have shared two more of its tracks. Readers can press play above to hear "Demolition Man;" below, hear "American Slang."
The Cadillac Three's "Demolition Man" lyric video was directed by Sean Bowes and is designed to look like an old-school video game. The plot involves a princess trapped in a tower and a hero -- who is named "Demo Man" and is basically the 8-bit version of the TC3 guys -- who is tasked with saving her. Throughout the clip, Demo Man collects coins, dodges falling rocks and swims through tunnels to get to the princess; ultimately, he must face off against a "dang-ugly lizard" before slaying the beast and ascending the tower to free his lady. The "Demolition Man" video was produced by Tyler Donnelly, Meghan Ciaramitaro and Sarah Ingerick.
The "American Slang" lyric video, meanwhile, puts the song's lyrics on subway trains, soda cans and TV screens. The tune is Track No. 6 of 11 on Legacy.
In addition to "Demolition Man" and "American Slang," the Cadillac Three have also shared “Dang If We Didn’t” and Legacy‘s title track in advance of their new record. Legacy will be the Cadillac Three’s third studio album.
“We started the Legacy album the day Bury Me in My Boots came out last August because there were some songs we were excited about and we wanted to jump in the studio and do what we do live for a minute — to see what would happen,” says drummer Neil Mason. “We didn’t really tell anyone what was up, and by the end of the year, we had cut the whole album and produced it ourselves.”
Legacy is due out on Aug. 25.
