I always strive to be honest with you and I'll honestly say that when I saw the new crime data just released by the FBI, I was more than a little surprised to see that it appears to show Missouri is suddenly getting safer. Much safer according to the numbers.

I wish I could say this just comes from one source, but the truth is it was the conclusion from a multitude of data I've looked at. Almost unanimously, Missouri is now ranked as one of the most dangerous states in America for 2023.

Well, there's bad news about violence in Missouri, but some consolation also. A brand new ranking has Missouri ranked among the most violent states for crimes against persons. The good news? At least Missouri isn't Arkansas.

It is impossible to put into words the sorrow I feel about the heinous act committed in Newtown, Conn.  If there's one place we want to feel our children are safe, it is in school.  Couple that with the fact that this was an elementary school and it is next to impossible to wrap my mind around it.  26 people lost their lives and nobody will ever be able to make sense of it.

School officials have issued to the parents of students a letter to regarding the recent reports of threats of violence at Smith-Cotton High School.  The letter states that the high school "received information regarding a possible act of school violence that was to be perpetrated on school grounds," and that the case has been turned over to the Pettis County Juvenile Office for further

Raising children and what to let them see and hear is a highly personal issue.  Some don't filter what their kids see at all, while others won't let them watch certain movies and TV shows, listen to certain music, or play particular video games.  I'm one for a happy medium.
