Twisters

If weather patterns continue to change the way many meteorologists are predicting, Missouri should brace itself for terrible twisters once Spring begins in 2024.

Missouri has seen some historic and tragic tornadoes, but few can rival a twister that tore through St. Louis in the Spring of 1896. It was so fierce it even blew steamboats out of the river.

I'm not predicting that Friday the 13th will be full of unlucky happenings, but you need to know that our part of Missouri and Illinois is in the area of the highest probability of tornadoes according to meteorologists.

One nice thing about Fall arriving in Missouri is we're finally out of tornado season, right? Wrong. As a matter of fact, one internet meteorologist is warning that Missouri could see strong tornadoes in October and maybe even November based on current weather patterns.

This is one record you never want to hold. A Missouri man was carried over 1,300 feet by a violent tornado, yet lived to tell about it.

I remember it like it was yesterday. It was a sunny Saturday in May of 2003 when the sky began to growl. Large anvil-like clouds began to explode overhead and by the time the day and night were done, numerous tornadoes wreaked havoc in Missouri and Illinois with a monster EF-2 roaring through Canton, Missouri and Lima, Illinois.

It hit in the middle of the night and claimed the lives of 5 souls as it carved a path of destruction through a small Missouri town. Now, drone video shows the damage path of a killer Missouri twister revealing complete devastation.

What's your worst nightmare when flying (other than crashing)? I've boarded many a plane in my life and the one scenario I've always dreaded is potentially flying through a tornado. There's a video that appears to show that nightmare in action as a plane flies through a twister in St. Louis.
