The list of country singers and musicians who were either born in or at some point lived in the state of Missouri is pretty impressive.

This week's race for No. 1 was between three singers with reality show competitions on their resumes. Videos from Chris Young and Tate Stevens challenged mulit-week champion Carrie Underwood, with the winner not decided until the final minutes of the week-long poll.

Winning Season 2 of 'X Factor' has helped Tate Stevens reach his goals, with a record deal, the hot new single 'Power of a Love Song' on country radio, and an upcoming full-length album release. With all of his success, he never forgot about the small town he grew up in -- and now Belton, Mo. is giving back to him by honoring Stevens on their water tower.

Stevens was atop the leaderboard in fan votes last week, so the country genre is well-represented on this particular reality series. The fact that Stevens chose to sing a country diva's song for this themed episode was also a nice touch and kept country deeply

Country hopeful Tate Stevens is 37 years old and chasing his dreams on 'X Factor.' But he is doing so with true country grit and undeniable talent. Stevens made it through to the live shows on the popular reality series, and is a member of mentor L.A. Reid's team. On Wednesday's (Nov. 7) live show, he impressed viewers with Bon Jovi's power ballad 'Wanted Dead or Alive.'
