The Sedalia Public Library, 311 W. 3rd Street, held a kickoff for its summer reading program Monday afternoon with the theme “Adventure begins at your library.”

In fact, I was one of those kids who... admittedly, probably scammed the system a little. 

The United Way of Pettis County sponsored and supported the Imagination Library in Pettis County before the state took over funding this month.

As you can see, Matt and his staff are doing their best to help keep kids reading. Here's hoping they keep it going for years to come!

If you were to write a novel, what would it be about? Would it be from your own stories, a historical event, something fantastical...?

Sounds like the library will be the hoppin' place to be this summer, with a ton of fun everywhere you look.

So not only are you getting the chance go out on a nice spring walk with the young ones, you're getting another opportunity to keep them reading.

A local book store is for sale and could close by the end of November, if a new owner isn't found.

I have a few favorite sites I like to visit and read every day, and it gives me a chuckle now and then.
