Escape From New York

It is now a cult classic, but then it was a low-budget motion picture that was about New York City as a walled prison. Escape from New York was really filmed nearly entirely in St. Louis, Missouri and you can see the filming locations as they look today.

With a title like 'Escape From New York,' one might think that the 1981 movie was filmed in New York, but actually quite a bit of it was shot in St. Louis.
