Okay, folks.  Halloween has come and gone.  Let's be real here: you know and I know that the candy is SUPPOSED to be for the kids.  But come on, now.  Just as well as I'm sitting here I know that you're not going to let that candy go to waste.  And I know it can be hard to look at those sweet, confused little faces when those kids ask, "Where's my candy?"

Trick-or-treating may be on the damp side tonight (Oct. 31) with the rain we've received, but there are plenty of Halloween activities still happening. Here is a look at some of the activities planned in the area for kids to do in addition to door-to-door trick-or-treating.

When you’re loading up kids with sugar as they trick-or-treat this Halloween, may we recommend one candy over all others?

This year, some children in Fargo, North Dakota may get a bigger trick than treat when hitting the streets for trick-or-treating. That's because a woman in the city has decided to take a stand against childhood obesity, which on its face it's a noble effort. However, the method in which she is doing it is turning heads.

As a kid, I remember rushing home to dump all the candy out of my Halloween bag onto the floor to examine everything that I got. Some candy is better than others, and there is nothing better than receiving that full size Snickers bar, but we usually ended up with a big batch of some pretty nasty candy.

Kids, it's getting to be that time of year: Easter. And I know when I was a kid, I looked forward to that basket just as much as I looked forward to the bigger crowds at Sunday Church.

It's Valentine's Day, and we all know what that means. #CandyHeartsRejects is trending on Twitter, again. At this point it's basically a Valentine's tradition, like buying chocolates or getting into a blackout fight.

Whether you're trick-or-treating or preparing for trick-or-treaters, Halloween leaves most folks with an abundance of candy. While it can be difficult to resist any of these tooth-decay-promoting treats, some candy is better than others. According to a survey from Public Policy Polling of 1,200 adults chocolate bars are the Halloween sweet of choice for an overwhelming 62 percent.

Halloween is the best holiday around, hands down. Why? We get boatloads of candy for free, we can dress up as Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson and no one will bat an eyelash. Is there anything more magical than parading around in ridiculous garb and entering sugar coma after sugar coma? No way!
