Sedalia Police were dispatched to Dugan's Paint, 3103 Erika Avenue, for an alarm early Thursday morning.  Officers located a broken window on the north side of the business. Officers cleared the business, and no-one was located inside.

Officers began searching the area on foot and in vehicles for the suspect. To supplement the search, the Department's Drone Unit deployed a thermal-capable drone.  The drone revealed a subject walking between houses a block east from Dugan's on Aaron Avenue.  The subject attempted to elude the drone by hiding, but he was unsuccessful.  Officers took the suspect into custody in the area of West 32nd Street and South Park Avenue with the help of Pettis County Deputies.

Through investigation, Officers were able to determine that the subject smashed the glass at Dugan's, and then made entry into the business through a broken window.  Officers were able to link the subject to the burglary at Dugan's.

Arrested was Chanyel Crow III, 33, of Memphis, Missouri.  Crow also had a felony warrant from Jackson County on charges of felony Possession of a Controlled Substance with a $5,000 cash or surety bond.  Crow was in possession of methamphetamine and related paraphernalia, along with two black powder explosive devices.

Charges were filed by Prosecutor Phillip Sawyer and Crow was later issued a $50,000 cash or surety bond on charges of Burglary in the 2nd Degree, Property Damage in the 1st Degree, and Possession of an Illegal Weapon/Explosive Device.
