The National Weather Service is calling for a chance at some snow and freezing drizzle in the next few days. We're essentially one week away from Christmas and hope that if you're traveling that you'll be safe.

We're not expecting a whole lot of snow, according to Sedalia/Pettis County EMA Director David Clippert.

It’s winter so at some point we have to say the dreaded “S” word. Starting late Wednesday night we could see the snow start falling. If it happens this will not be a major winter storm. We could see light snow through at least Thursday evening with a possibly of freezing drizzle sneaking in Thursday night into Friday morning. Snow accumulations are expected to be around 2 inches possibly 3. Temperatures will get into the 40’s on Sunday, so any snow won’t be around long.

First snow finds lots of cars in ditches every year, throw in the possibility of freezing drizzle and that increases the risk of accidents. Use caution when driving.

We'll bring you the latest forecast with Weathereye through the day and online too.
