Slight Risk For Severe Weather This Weekend in West Central Missouri
The National Weather Service is calling for a chance of rain through the weekend and into Monday. Sedalia/Pettis County EMA Director David Clippert says there is a slight risk for severe weather with these showers we'll experience.
We are in a slight risk for severe weather. We may still see some rain with thunder and lightening until about 7 or so, but nothing severe.
This afternoon we may see storms start to fire again as early as noon and could be as late as 4 and lasting well into Sunday morning. The stronger storms, will more likely be late afternoon into evening.
- Slight Risk: 15% chance of some type of severe weather. Large are covering 235,000 square miles, stretching from eastern Colorado to southern Wisconsin.
- Tornado Probability: 2 to 5% of an isolated tornado
- Wind Probability: 15% chance of winds 58 MPH or higher
- Hail Probability: 15 to 30% chance of hail 1 inch (about the size of a quarter) or larger. This is our main risk tonight.
