The Sacred Heart golf team made the scenic trip to Joplin Missouri to join a packed field of 91 golfers and compete in the Missouri Class 1, District 3 Tournament.

The top 12 players and top two teams advance for a chance to compete in the Class 1 State Championships, at the Country Club of Missouri in Columbia on May 15 and 16th.

After having a heartbreak round last year and missing the cut by one stroke, Sophomore Zander Jackson made sure that was not going to happen again. Zander turned it on and did what he needed to and ground out a 91 to make the cut and advance to State.

Zander will join teammate Luke Jenkins at the State tournament. Luke, (placed 4th in District last year) fired an 81, 3rd place finish, earning him his third trip to the State Championship in as many years.

Rounding out the varsity scores, Spencer Aeschbacher carded a 119, Eli Smeltzer brought in a 122 and Thomas Jenkins finished with a 124.
