SH Girls Beat Kingsville at Districts

The Sacred Heart girls played Kingsville in the Class District 9 tournament Saturday and won, 63-26.

With the win, the Gremlins improve to 13-13 on the season.

Sacred Heart will next play Otterville (18-6) at Northwest R-5 in Hughesville in the next round of District play Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The Lady Gremlins' leading scorers were Kiley Beykirch 30, Mariana Restrepo 13 and Emily McDonald 10.

Kingsville is now 2-18.

Sectionals begin March 1.

The Sacred Heart Junior High boys "A" team (9-5, 6-3) concluded their season with a 30-19 loss in the 3rd place game of the Kaysinger Conference Junior High Basketball Tournament vs the Stover Bulldogs on Saturday.

SH was led by Max Van Leer with 10 points and 5 rebounds. Jeydan Salazar compiled 8 rebounds in the contest.

The boys played with energy and toughness all season, finishing the season with 9 wins vs 5 losses, according to the coach.
