The State Fair Community College clay target shooting team participated in its first competition, the ACUI Upper Midwest Super Shoot on Oct. 30-31 in Grand Island, Nebraska.

SFCC was represented by two sophomore student-athletes Gage Fergerson and Riley Rademann.

“I am very proud of Gage and Riley for their performances at the competition,” said Head Coach Sarah Manuel. “It was a new experience, with a higher-level competition and competitors from 15 different colleges. We learned from the competition, and we can take that and better prepare for the National Competition in March."

Both student-athletes shot multiple disciplines throughout the event.

Fergerson broke 66 targets to finish 99th in the American Skeet Open Mens Standings. Rademann broke 58 targets to finish 104th.

Fergerson finished 23rd in the American Trap Open Mens Standings. Fergerson broke 87 targets. Rademann broke 79 targets to finish 52nd in the event.

Fergerson finished 35th in the Super Sporting Open Mens Standings with a score of 39. Rademann finished 78th with a score of 30.

Fergerson finished 72nd in the Sporting Clays Open Mens Standings with a score of 57. Rademann finished 101st with a score of 43.

Fergerson finished 74th with a combined score of 210 in the Combined American Events and Sporting Clays for men. Rademann finished with a combined score of 180, which was good enough to finish 95th.

Fergerson finished 59th in the Mens Individual High Overall with a score of 249. Rademann finished 82nd with a score of 210.

“I look forward to the next few months of practice as we gear up for the ACUI shoot in Iowa next semester,” said Manuel.
