Sedalia Woman Accused of Arson, Property Damage

On Wednesday around 10:55 a.m., Sedalia Police responded to 508 South Engineer for an arson report.

Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the victim, who reported a fire on the rear porch of her residence. The fire was determined to be arson. Investigation led to a suspect.

The suspect, 26-year-old Samantha D. Hopkins of Sedalia, was located and arrested with the assistance of Pettis County Deputies in the 1300 block of East Boonville. Hopkins was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she was placed on a 24-hour hold.

She now faces charges of 1st degree arson and 2nd degree property damage.
