Sedalia Police were on patrol near West Main Street and Winchester Drive Tuesday night when they observed a black Jeep make a wide turn onto West Main Street.

The vehicle nearly struck a westbound car on West Main Street. Officers performed a traffic stop on the Jeep near West Main Street and Thompson Road. Investigation during the traffic stop revealed the driver was intoxicated by drugs.

A search of the vehicle revealed two firearms, both of which had been reported stolen in Sedalia in 2020. Both were recovered.

Eabey Carlos Gonzalez, 18, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated by Drugs, Possession of Marijuana and Operating a Motor Vehicle on a Highway Without a Valid License.

An occupant of the vehicle, Emilio Olivos, 18, of Sedalia was arrested for Receiving Stolen Property, and Unlawful Possession of a Concealable Weapon.

Both Gonzalez and Olivos were placed on 24-hour holds at the Pettis County Jail with court dates to be determined.
