On the afternoon of September 23rd, Officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of West 10th Street in reference to an identity theft report. Stacy Hoon stated she received a letter saying she had authorized a wire transfer of money between banks. Hoon stated she also received letters from collection agencies for balances due. Hoon said she did not give any authorization of these transactions.


 

Officers were dispatched to the Motel 6, 3402 West Broadway Boulevard on the afternoon of September 23rd in reference to a theft report. Norma J. Berg stated she was scammed out of approximately $251,515.00.


 

Tuesday night, Officers performed a traffic stop on a Mitsubishi SUV, as the vehicle did not have a front license plate. The traffic stop took place in the area of North Park Avenue and West Benton Street. Officers spoke with the driver and then performed a computer check, discovering he had two active warrants for his arrest. John William Marquess, 34, of Sedalia, was arrested for his Failure to Appear warrants on original charges from Pettis County for Littering and from Johnson County for Failure to Wear a Seat Belt. Marquess was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a cash only bond of $200.

Sedalia Police responded to the 400 block of West 2nd Street Tuesday afternoon for a medical call involving a juvenile. On arrival, the suspect was breathing, but unresponsive. She was transported to the Children's Mercy Hospital by PCAD for further evaluation. A general information report was completed to document the incident.


 

Early Tuesday morning, Officers spoke with Brittney D. Bays over the phone in reference to a violation of a court order. Officers spoke with Bays and learned they were contacted by the suspect, who they have a full order of protection against. Charges are being sought from the state prosecutor for Violation of a Protection Order.


 

Officers responded to the 600 block of South Moniteau Tuesday morning in reference to a possible burglary. It was determined that a subject who was recently evicted from the residence had broken in. The subject left the scene prior to Officer's arrival. The value of the damage was estimated at approximately $325. Charges were requested through the Pettis County Prosecutor's Office.


 

Monday morning, Officers responded to Dugan's Paint, 3103 Erika Avenue for a theft report. On arrival, Officers met with Chad C. Fidler, an employee. Fidler reported a catalytic converter had been stolen from a vehicle belonging to the business. A few hours later that morning, at Schwan's Home Service, 3003 Erika Avenue, Officers took another report of a catalytic converter theft. Denise Wernli reported the value of the damage was approximately $1800. At the time of the report, a suspect had not been located.


 

Tuesday morning, Officers took a destruction of property report from the parking lot of the Bothwell Hospital, 601 East 14th Street. Brianna C. Welch reported her car being egged at some point over the weekend while parked in the lot. The paint from the vehicle was stripped off, causing a felony amount of property damage. The suspect is unknown at this time.
