Sedalia Police Reports For September 23, 2021

Wednesday afternoon, Sedalia Police responded to a reported vandalism in the 500 block of North Osage Avenue. Pamela K. Ehlers and Gavin Minddan Ray Galloway each reported the tires on their vehicles were slashed in the overnight.
Officers on patrol observed a vehicle moving in a high rate of speed Wednesday evening. Radar indicated the vehicle was moving at 63 miles an hour in a 40 mile per hour zone. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and identified the driver. After running the driver's information through Dispatch, it was advised the driver had four Failure to Appear warrants for his arrest. Arlando Donnell Staten, 49, of Kansas City, was arrested on his warrants. The Failure to Appear warrant from Pettis County was on original charges of Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility with a cash or surety bond of $1,500. The Chariton County, Caroll County, and Chilicothe PD warrants for Failure to Appear were all for original charges of Speeding, with the cash only bonds totaling to $600. Staten was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked on the warrants.
Wednesday evening, Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Moniteau Avenue for a report of a dog bite. Both parties were spoken to about the dog bite and a report was completed to document the incident.
Sedalia Police responded to the 100 block of East Morgan Street for a report of a home invasion. Upon arrival, Stephanie Buckner stated that her landlord walked into her residence without any announcement. Buckner wished to pursue a charge of Trespassing. A charge is being referred to the Pettis County Prosecutor.
On the evening of September 16th, members of the Crime Resolution Unit conducted a knock and talk in the 400 block of East Harvey Street regarding criminal activity. During the contact at the residence, an individual was contacted and found to have an active Failure to Appear warrant out of Pettis County on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle on the Highway While Suspended with a $300 cash only bond. John William Bryant, 48 of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail for processing. Another subject was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Tammy Jo DeSpain, 50, of Sedalia was arrested for Possession of a Dangerous Drug and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Monday afternoon, Officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Clinton Road and Driftwood Drive for a license violation. A large amount of methamphetamine and other items indicative of drug sales were located in the vehicle. Both Kenneth Thomas Yoakum, 53, of Kansas City, and Jeannie Marie Davidson, 46, of Centertown, were arrested. Both Yoakum and Davidson were held with bond to be determined on charges of Trafficking Drugs in the 1st Degree, Possession of a Dangerous Drug, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Sedalia Police initiated contact with a subject in a vehicle after seeing it operate on the roadway near West Main Street and Winchester Drive with expired registration Tuesday afternoon. A check through Dispatch showed the driver's license status was revoked out of Missouri. Jordan S. Mosley, 20, of Sedalia, was arrested, taken to the Police Department, and issued a city ticket for Driving While Revoked.
