Sedalia Police Reports For September 1st, 2022

Wednesday evening, Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of South Ohio Avenue in reference to property damage. When Officers arrived, they spoke with Misty Dawn Rahe, who said someone had tried to kick in her front door. Rahe estimated the damage to be $1200. No arrests have been made at this time.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 1100 block of South Massachusetts Wednesday night in reference to an assault that occurred on the Katy Trail. Officers spoke to Gary Eugene Austin.  Austin said that while he was walking his dog on the trail, he was slammed to the ground by an unknown female. The suspect then ran off. No arrests have been made this time.

Officers responded to the 1800 block of East 7th Street for a report of an assault Wednesday night. When Officers arrived, they spoke with the father of the victim. A report has been completed.

Wednesday night, an Officer initiated a traffic stop at West 16th Street and South Ohio Avenue on a gold Pontiac car for improperly displaying a front license plate. A probable cause search was done on the vehicle, and a small amount of marijuana was located. The marijuana was seized and placed into evidence to be destroyed. No charges are being sought.

Early Thursday morning, Officers were dispatched to a domestic incident that occurred in the 500 block of East 4th Street. Officers were not able to determine a primary physical aggressor in this incident. A 12 hour log was completed and both parties were separated.

Wednesday morning, Officers conducted an investigative traffic stop on a car in the 700 block of West 16th Street. The owner's Missouri driving privileges had been suspended, and he was driving the car that day. Robert Perry Thull, 19, of Sedalia, was issued a municipal citation for Driving While Suspended and released with a court date.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of East Broadway Boulevard in reference to a theft report Wednesday morning. Victoria Smith stated that in the overnight hours someone stole two of their children's bicycles from their property. The estimated value of the bicycles was set at $300.

Wednesday afternoon, Officer stopped a vehicle in the 2200 block of South Grand Avenue, near Katy Park. The vehicle was observed to be improperly registered. A computer check of the driver's information revealed that her Missouri driving privileges were revoked. Her vehicle's license plate was seized. Carrie Lynn Wilcox, 45, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked and released pending the filing of charges of Driving While Revoked.
