Sunday night, Officers initiated a traffic stop on a truck for failure to maintain its lane in the area of West 11th Street and South Grand Avenue. The vehicle also had expired license plates. A small baggy of marijuana was located during the investigation. The marijuana was seized for destruction, and the driver was released without charges.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the intersection of South Marvin Avenue and East Broadway Boulevard for a report of a hit and run accident Sunday evening. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with Brooke Bellamy Priest, and gathered potential information on the second driver. A report was generated to document the incident.


 

Early Sunday morning, Officers responded to the 1400 block of South Park Avenue in reference to a disturbance in progress. Upon arrival, the subject had left. Officers later located the suspect hiding inside a home nearby with the help of one of the residence's room mates. Nickie Elaine Smith, 36, Homeless, was arrested for her three Failure to Appear warrants on original charges of Assault, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Violations Involving Child Support/Public Assistance Information. Smith also had a citation pending from Humansville for Property Damage. Bond for Smith was set at $950 cash only.


 

Sedalia Police stopped a truck in the area of East 4th Street and South Brown Avenue early Monday morning. The truck was driving on the wrong side of the road, it had no license plate, and it had parked improperly, facing the wrong direction. Officers also suspected the driver's license may be suspended. The driver was the suspect, and was arrested for Driving While Revoked. Carrie Lynn Wilcox, 46, of Clinton, was taken to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released.


 

Saturday morning, Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop at West 16th Street and South Ohio avenue for a non-moving traffic violation. During the stop, the driver was found to have an active arrest warrant out of Pettis County. The warrant was a Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Driving While Suspended. Cristy Ann Comfort, 30, of Andover KS, was arrested without incident pending a $150 cash only bond. The passenger was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. John Edward Franken, 42, of Green Ridge, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released.

Officers stopped a vehicle in the area of North Engineer Avenue and East Tower Street Sunday night for disobeying a stop sign. Officers identified the driver, and revealed they had an active warrant from Jackson County. The warrant was a Failure to Appear on original charges of Possession of Marijuana. Lisa D. Frasher, 49, of Stover, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a total bond of $2,000.


 

Monday morning, Officers were dispatched to the Casey's store, 716 West 16th Street, in reference to an abandoned bike. Officers spoke with an employee, who stated someone dropped off a bike in the grass in front of the store. The bike was picked up and placed to evidence at the Police Department.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a subject check on a person known to have an active warrant Sunday night at the Family Farm and Home, 1400 South Limit Avenue. After confirming the warrant was active, Tina Marie Swatek, 59, Homeless, was arrested. Swatek was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked on her Failure to Appear warrants from Greene County on original charges of Assault and Trespassing. Bond was set at $100 cash only.


 

Officers conducted a traffic stop Sunday morning in the area of West 9th Street and South Quincy Avenue. Officers had observed the vehicle failing to maintain its lane on West Broadway Boulevard. When contact was made with the driver, the odor of intoxicants was detected on his breath. Efren Suarez Hernandez, 23, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department. There, Hernandez provided a breath sample that showed his BAC to be above 0.08. Hernandez was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked for Driving While Intoxicated and then released.


 

Sunday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of East Broadway Boulevard and South Lamine Avenue on a vehicle that was not displaying a front license plate and had excessively dark window tint. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Miguel Angel Lemus Arroyo, 23, of La Monte, was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department. There, Arroyo provided a breath sample that showed his BAC to be above 0.08. Arroyo was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked for Driving While Intoxicated and then released to a sober driver with a court date.


 

Last Friday night, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for travelling 64 MPH in a 35 MPH zone, in the area of West 3rd Street and South Lamine Avenue. After stopping the vehicle, Officers determined the driver to be intoxicated. Dmitriy Vladimirovic Gudoshnikov, 35, of Sedalia, was arrested on charges of Driving While Intoxicated, Speeding (26-30 MPH Over), No Proof of Insurance, Improper Lane Usage, and Vehicles To Be Driven Carefully. Gudoshnikov was then transported to the Sedalia Police Department, where he was processed and then released to a sober person.


 

Sunday morning, Officers responded to the 1900 block of South Sneed Avenue in reference to a report of a suicidal subject. The subject had made suicidal comments, and then left the residence. Officers were able to locate the subject almost two hours later, after checking various areas. The subject agreed to go to the Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment and was transported by Officers.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of South Park Avenue in reference to a violation of an ex-parte and property damage Sunday morning. A suspect was identified in the call, and it was also confirmed the ex-parte was active. The suspect was later found and arrested in the 1400 block of South Limit Avenue. The suspect was transported to the BRHC for medical treatment for a hand that was used to break a window in the 1400 block of South Park Avenue. Dillon James Palmer, 28, of Knob Noster, was later transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24 hour hold. Palmer was booked in pending formal charges of Violation of an Ex-Parte (Repeat Offense) and Property Damage in the 2nd Degree.


 

On the afternoon of September 4th, Officers met with Mary Riley. Riley informed Officers she had been assaulted by her ex-boyfriend earlier that morning at her residence in the 700 block of North Quincy Avenue. The victim had no signs of injury, and reported to have a witness. At the time of the report, Officers had not received a returned written statement from the victim or the witness. No charges are being submitted at this time.


 

Friday night, Officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of West 16th Street in reference to an unwanted person at a residence. Officers made contact with a male, and attempted to communicate with him, but were unsuccessful. After multiple attempts to get the suspect to leave with no success, he was arrested. Jose Fiscal-Oval, 24, Of Sedalia, was taken to the SPD where he was fingerprinted, issued a citation for Trespassing in the 2nd Degree, and released. Three hours later, Officers were dispatched back to the address in reference to a possible home invasion. Officers searched the residence, and located Fiscal-Oval sleeping inside a bedroom. Fiscal-Oval was awakened and arrested again. Fiscal-Oval was booked in at the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24 hour hold pending charges of Burglary in the 2nd Degree, Stealing, and Trespassing.


 

Officers were dispatched to the area of the Woods East Grocery Store, 701 East Broadway Boulevard, on the afternoon of September 14th. Officers arrived and made contact with Kendra Chase, who reported that a male subject had spit on her in the area of East 4th Street and South Marvin Avenue. The suspect left the area prior to Officer's arrival. The victim wishes to assist in prosecution.


 

Early Saturday morning, Officers were dispatched to assist with a traffic stop at the McDonald's restaurant, 3101 West Broadway Boulevard. The vehicle had been observed failing to maintain its lane and failing to signal a turn. When contact was made with the driver, there were several indicators of intoxication. It was discovered the suspect also had a revoked driver's license. The suspect disobeyed multiple directives from Officers to exit the vehicle. The suspect was removed from the vehicle, and arrested. Jerome James Dieckman, 31, of Sedalia was transported to the Sedalia Police Department, where he refused to provide a breath sample. A search warrant was obtained, and a blood draw was conducted. Dieckman was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24 hour hold pending charges of Driving While Revoked, Driving While Intoxicated (Prior Offender), and Resisting Arrest.


 

Last Tuesday afternoon, Officers responded to the Smith Cotton Junior High School, 312 East Broadway Boulevard, in reference to juveniles fighting. Officers have submitted juvenile referrals on all parties involved.


 

Friday afternoon, Officers conducted a subject check in the 400 block of North Heard Avenue. Kevin N. Richards, 40, Homeless, was found to have an active felony Failure to Abide warrant from Miller County on original charges of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child Creating Substantial Risk in the 1st Degree. Richards was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be held with no bond.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Family Pawn store, 2805 West Broadway Boulevard, to investigate a reported stolen firearm Friday morning. Upon arrival, the firearm was verified as having been stolen out of Overland Park Kansas in 1998. The firearm has been placed on a hold and the original reporting agency has been contacted.


 

Friday morning, Officers responded to the 400 block of East 7th Street in reference to a theft. Officers spoke with Donald Lang, who stated sometime through the night the license plates were stolen off of his truck. The suspect is currently unknown.


 

Late Friday night, Officers were dispatched to the Olsen West apartments, 3200 West 10th Street, for a report of a theft. Rita Mae Paynter reported a vehicle had been stolen. Officers gathered the necessary information and generated a report.


 

Sedalia Police were on patrol Friday morning in the area of West 16th Street and South Limit Avenue when they made contact with two subjects panhandling in the area. They were using signs with a sick child on it as a ruse to get money from the community. After checking the subjects for warrants, they were warned. They left to go back to Kansas City.


 

Saturday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of South Massachusetts Avenue in reference to a domestic disturbance. Officers identified an adult male and female, neither were named in the report. Both the male and female gave different accounts of what took place. At the conclusion of the investigation, a primary aggressor was not determined. A 12 hour log was generated to document the incident.
