Sedalia Police Reports For October 7, 2021

Early Thursday morning, an Officer responded to the 1400 block of South Sneed Avenue for a report of a runaway juvenile. Shannon Brown reported that her 16 year old son left the residence approximately a half hour before and voiced intentions of not returning home. The subject was entered into law enforcement databases as a missing person/runaway. No foul play is suspected.
Wednesday morning, Sedalia Police were dispatched to the lobby of the Police Department in reference to a theft in the area of the 3300 block of South Stewart Avenue. Officers spoke with Adam Jackson, who said someone had called claiming to be from his bank. The suspect later accessed Jackson's account, and made fraudulent purchases with it. No suspects have been located at this time.
Officers performed a traffic stop on a Chevrolet truck Tuesday morning as the vehicle showed an improper license plate. The traffic stop took place in the area of East Broadway Boulevard and South Murray Avenue. Officers spoke to the driver and a single passenger, and then performed a computer check through Dispatch on their information. The driver, Charles Lee Welch, 40, of Sedalia, had a suspended driver's license. Welch also had a no bond felony Failure to Appear warrant from Miller County on original charges of Endangering the Welfare of a Child Creating Substantial Risk and Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree. Welch was arrested on the warrant and the charge of Driving While Suspended and transported to the Pettis County Jail.
Tuesday morning, Officers performed a traffic stop on a white Ford SUV, as they recognized the driver to have a revoked driver's license. The traffic stop took place in the area of East Broadway Boulevard and South Martin Avenue. Officers spoke to the driver, and performed a computer check through Dispatch, whereupon her revoked status was confirmed. Erica Beth Corpe, 40, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department, where she was photographed, fingerprinted and released with a court date.
